Welcome to the Keeshond Club of America's legislation awareness page.

It is becoming increasingly important to stay on top of the anti-pet legislation across the country that is threatening to take away our rights to own pets.   Most of the legislation is being touted as "anti-puppymill" legislation, and "animal welfare and care" legislation.   In reality the true agenda behind this legislation is the ultimate elimination of pets from our society.   This legislation is being pushed by the big money Animal Rights organizations.   We must be alert and watch for these types of legislation being introduced in each state.   We must fight and defeat these bills!  Do not be fooled into thinking that any of this legislation "sounds reasonable".   You may think that the current wording of a piece of legislation does not apply to you, especially the ones that set a number of intact animals you may have.   They will purposely set the "limit" high to start with to try and convince people they are only going after the "puppy mills", but once a piece of legislation like that passes, it becomes very easy to modify those numbers lower and lower until it will impact ALL fanciers.  So please get involved - volunteer to watch for this type of legislation in your state and be on the Legislation Committee!  We need everyone's help!
